From the initial concept to the final creation, let's explore the story behind this remarkable piece of functional art.
Our client envisioned a furniture piece that would be the centerpiece of their living space. They desired something extraordinary that would not only harmonize with their existing décor but also embody their unique story and tastes.
The hardwood was sourced from Delmar, NY. A residential property was clearing land and gave UID a call to see if we would be interested in a batch of spalted maple logs. These logs were then milled and kiln-dried before ending up on our showroom floor; a whole year after sourcing the wood.
The client made an hour drive to our showroom and saw a table with resin. They immediately loved the layout and the character epoxy resin design had to offer. This particular client wanted to be able to see into the table. Due to this we had to complete two separate resin pours. The first pour was a heavy layer for the bottom and the second was a light layer for the top to create raw depth.
The metal table leg design is specifically designed to fit existing chairs the customer intended to use. We ended this project with a white glove delivery service.
