How do I maintain my custom furniture?

Congratulations on your new table! We recommend reading our Do and Don’t List to ensure the longevity of your furniture. Most importantly, respect the wood. It’s strong but not indestructible. We carry maintenance oil to keep your table protected and looking new. You can purchase Rubio Monocoat Universal Maintenance Oil HERE

Can I visit the shop?

Yes! We encourage customers to come by the shop to search through our growing inventory of specialty hardwoods. Find us at 208 Morris Rd, Schenectady, NY 12303. Shop hours are M-F 8am-4pm.

We also have woodworking supplies from brands like EcoPoxy®, Eye Candy Pigments, Rampa®, Rubio® Monocoat, and more. Stop in and meet the team!

Can I book an appointment?

Customers are welcome to the shop between the hours of 8am-4pm Monday through Friday, and Saturday 8am-12pm. We do encourage our custom furniture clients to book an appointment before they arrive so we can dedicate time to discuss details and materials, ensuring your vision comes to life. Where are your products manufactured?

All of our products are manufactured right here in Schenectady, NY! We source all of our wood locally in Upstate New York through networking with both homeowners and tree service companies to responsibly acquire the material. The hardwoods are kiln-dried on our property. We believe in sustainable manufacturing, and carrying products that are American-made.

What is the average lead time for a custom project?

Times may vary depending on client specifications, product availability, and current workflow.

Once all of the details have been covered a formal quote is provided along with a copy of our contract. A 50% deposit is required to move forward and our lead time is generally 6-8 weeks. We provide updates throughout the building process and also offer white glove delivery service.

How long does it take to get a quote?

We respond to all custom request forms within 1-2 business days.

Where do you ship your custom furniture and wood slabs?

We ship our custom built pieces all across the U.S.

For slab supply, large slabs will ship LTL through our freight broker. Smaller slabs will usually ship within 1 business day of order through UPS or USPS. We ship to the lower 48.

Can I use your industrial machines for my custom project?

We offer a wide range of services, including custom milling, kiln drying and cnc flattening of both small and large slabs. Pricing will vary. Please reach out if you are in need of any of these services!

Will UID buy my trees or logs?

If you have trees or logs you would like to sell please fill out our online form here. We will review your request and get back to you as soon as possible.
